LIS Professionals’ Stress, Workload and Job Satisfaction Level in Private Educational Institutes of Gujarat

Abstract


The purpose of the present study is to investigate the present situation of the job satisfaction among the library and information science professionals working in private academic institutions of Gujarat with objectives to find HRM practices, level of stress, perception, job swapping ratio and various factors of job satisfaction. Major findings showed that the employees receive an average motivation and poor remunerations. They were working under a higher medium level of stress and workload at average work culture. Majority of the employees keep swapping their job for a higher salary and professional growth. Looking at the objectives of the study and the fact that the researchers are very focused on the library professionals at a government-aided organization and not at the private institutions. The data collected from this study will help the government to distinguish the current situation of the LIS professionals at Private institutions and also to the employer to improve their management and leadership practices.
