Abstract

This paper examines the validity of Lotka's Law to authorship distribution and Zipf's Law of word occurrence in Doctoral Theses of Library and Information Science in the Universities of North East India. The data were collected during 2006-2015 and compiled systematically for analysis. A total number of 12707 citations were identified and tabulated in 8 different criteria to analyze and draw findings. The result suggests that author productivity distribution in Lotka's Law is not applicable to Doctoral Theses of Library and Information Science in the Universities of North East India.
